At New Castle County Libraries we provide the resources for you to explore and engage in maker activities.
We have maker equipment and tools free for you to use!
Start with our Maker Lab Orientation, then learn about a specific machine and look for available class offerings. Once you've completed a machine certification, you can book time to use the machine during open maker lab.

Audio and Video orientations are separate from the maker lab orientation. Orientations to all labs are mandatory.

Mixing Room
The Mixing Room can be used separately or together with the
Media Room. Our Mac computer is equipped with GarageBand
Digital Audio Workstation. We have a synthesizer/MIDI
controller directly connected to the computer system for digital sound creation,
dynamic vocal mic, and single port available for an electric guitar.
Media Room
The Media Room is designed to accommodate the recording of a larger (max 5) group of singers and instrumentalists. Recordings can be monitored and mixed in the Mixing Room. The Media Room also comes equipped with an electric piano.

Digital Conversion
- Convert 8mm and Super 8 film reels into high definition
1080P digital MPEG-4 format.
- Convert images and documents from 1” x 1” to 8.5” x 11.7” into widely used digital formats including JPEG, TIFF, PNG, Bitmap, and PDF.
- Convert 35mm, 127, 110, and APS film negatives and slides into high definition digital JPEG format.
- Convert VHS or VHS-C tape to digital AVC or MPEG-4 (Mac
only) formats.
